Vendor insurance compliance tracker
Tracks certificates of insurance for small property managers, venues, and general contractors who currently run compliance on a spreadsheet.
The problem
A vendor whose coverage lapsed is a liability event, not an inconvenience. The tools that solve this properly start at enterprise scale and price; below that, everyone uses a spreadsheet and finds out too late.
My role
Product definition, market validation, and build.
Decisions worth defending
- Extract, then confirm — never enforce a compliance verdict on an unreviewed parse. The metric that matters is the silent-error rate on dates and limits, not raw extraction accuracy.
- Rent the commodity document AI; build the ACORD 25 field mapping, coverage logic, and confidence scoring, because that is the part that is defensible.
- Validate extraction against a 50-certificate evaluation set before building any of the interface.
Where it stands
Built and deployed. Pre-launch: no paying customers yet.
