I have been at Georgia College & State University for twenty-four years without a break — first as a student building software for its IT department, most recently as the chair of its college advisory board and the instructor for its graduate database course.

2002 — 2006

Built software for the university's IT department

Application development and technology support for the GCSU IT department, alongside client work and an undergraduate degree. Also researched and published a security education series in The Colonnade, the student newspaper, on behalf of the campus CIO — while founding the archery club, serving as vice president of student government and president of the dean's student advisory board, and finishing as the college's Outstanding Student of the Year.

Joined the College advisory board

Invited onto the College of Business & Technology Advisory Board the year after finishing undergraduate study.

2011

Founding member, IT Advisory Board

Helped stand up the advisory board for the Department of Information Systems & Computer Science.

2014 — 2015

Chair, IT Advisory Board

Led the board through two academic years.

2019

Endowed a scholarship for women in technology

My wife and I established the Madison Family Scholarship for Women in Technology, supporting women studying technology at Georgia College.

April 2024

Inducted into the Hall of Fame

College of Business & Technology Hall of Fame.

2024 — 2025

Taught the graduate database course

Database Management, three terms: Spring 2024, Spring 2025, and Fall 2025.

2024 — 2026

Chair, College advisory board

Chaired the same board joined seventeen years earlier.

Endowed the IT Advisory Board fund

The IT Advisory Board Endowed Excellence Fund, giving permanent funding to student technology programs and the initiatives the Board supports.

Awarded for service to the university.
